Obishikokaang Resource Corporation (ORC) employs a Community Liaison/Communications Officer who increases the community’s awareness of OBISH’s mission, visions, programs and activities.
The Community Liaison/Communications Officer’s duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting member/ORC training programs
- Implementing the Forestry Experience Student Program for new candidates
- Marketing ORC through various means including promotional materials
- Providing staff support
- Recruiting qualified candidates/agencies
- Serving as point of contact for candidates/agencies
- Scheduling and conducting candidate interviews
- Updating and maintaining required documentation
- Maintaining the member/agency contact list, roster and meeting attendance records
- Developing meeting agendas, recording and minutes, and preparing and distributing meeting packets within required timeframes
- Planning outreach activities and organizing events with committee members
- Developing promotional materials
- Communicating with members/agencies prior to meetings to ensure attendance
- Scheduling members’ transportation for meetings and events
- Handling logistics for meetings and events, including securing venues
- Preparing quarterly newsletters
Job requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a leadership capacity an asset
- Experience in the forestry industry an asset
- Familiarity with the community and with ORC
- Superior communication skills and the ability to work as a team member
